Darrell Penberthy
Owner and Funeral Director
I grew up in Leadwood, Missouri, and graduated from West County High School in 1991. I attended mortuary School at Mid-America School of Mortuary Science and became a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1993. I came to work for Watkins family in 2000 and in 2020 purchased the funeral homes from the Watkins family.
I have three children Caroline, Jackson, and Lydia Penberthy, and one granddaughter Delaney. I served my hometown as well as Dexter as a volunteer firefighter for a total of 27 years. Currently, I am a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge, Dexter Rotary, Southeast Missouri Funeral Directors Association, and Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association serving as a board member.
Continuing my education has always been important to me and I have attended and completed courses at the Fountain National Academy of Embalming Skills.
