Dixie Hughes Dixie Hughes, the daughter of the late John Wesley and Ida Lillian Moore Dillon, was born in Morley, Missouri on August 29, 1913, and passed away at the Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri on March 21, 2005, at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 20 days. Mrs. Hughes had lived in Gray Ridge for many years before moving to Dexter 39 years ago. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On October 21, 1930, she was married to James T. Hughes in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1997. Surviving are one daughter: Louise Yeakey of O'Fallon, Missouri, three sons: Bill Hughes of Dexter, Missouri, Bob Hughes of Warrior, Alabama, Jerry Hughes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Donna Lynn Zorn in 1969, one great grandson: Jeremy Hughes, one brother and one sister. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at 10:30 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Jimmie Trotter of Sikeston, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
