Rita M. Hofmann, the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Ritta Salyer Terry, was born in Parma, Missouri on May 25, 1928, and passed away in Florence, Alabama on January 7, 2005, at the age of 76 years.

She was born in Parma, Missouri, raised in Scott, Mississippi and had been a resident of Florence, Alabama since 1953. She was a retired teacher and had attended Mississippi State Colleger for women, received her Bachelors degree in Education from Delta State Teachers College and her Masters Degree from the University of North Alabama. She was a founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She was married to John W. Hofmann 56 years ago and he survives Also surviving are two sons: Michael T. Hofmann of Killen, Alabama, Timothy L. Hofmann of Decatur, Alabama, one daughter: Shaun H. Grove of Memphis, Tennessee, one brother: James Crabtree of Belton, Alabama, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 3:00 PM in the Elkins Funeral Home in Florence, Alabama.

Graveside services and interment will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday January 15, 2005, in the Parma Cemetery in Parma, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of local arrangements.
