Floyd "Dolph" Gibson, son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Duncan Gibson, was born near Dexter, Missouri on November 6, 1915, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare facility in Dexter, Missouri on January 9, 2006, at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 3 days. He had lived in most of his life in Dexter, spent many years in Washington State and returned to Dexter in 1985. He was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On July 31, 1935, he was married to Iva Mae Chapman in Dexter, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Iva Mae Gibson of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Cloyd E. Gibson of Bernie, Missouri; two daughters, Iva Jean Tippen and Margaret Ann McKinny both of Wenatchee, Washington; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren; and one brother, Alvin James "Bud" Gibson of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Floyd D. Gibson on October 12, 1995, two brothers, Grover Wilson Gibson and John Luther Gibson, and one sister, Wilma Fae Eaton. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Vyron Yount of Chaffee, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
