Ellen, a beautiful lady inside and out, was beloved by all whose lives she touched. I have so many fond memories of her, dating back from my early childhood up to recent family gatherings and I want to share some of those. I enjoyed her easy laugh. Early on she included me in those walks across the open field in front of the old family home to a place of nature's wonderment of huge gulleys. My imagination ran wild, playing hide and seek or finding rocks or wildflowers with her, even though our age difference was almost 15 years. Today I can close my eyes and reminisce a sunny day, soft summer breezes blowing through her long brown hair, billowing her skirt, while field grasses and wild summer flowers swayed in the warm wind around us. Monet, the renowned impressionist artist, captured that same essence with his painting "Portrait of a Lady with Parasol Walking in a Field". Every time I see that painting, I think of Ellen. Ellen attended every annual Frank family reunion, all 30 of them. She contributed so many family stories to our Yearbook. We are fortunate to have those articles that she wrote, which have now become a condensed documented family history. She often brought a coconut cake to our potluck dinner. I think she knew that was a favorite of mine. Her children were her pride and joys. Her family was most important.
