Obituary of Anita Louise Peters

Anita Louise Kitchen Peters, age 80 of Dexter, Missouri passed away April 9, 2021 at Gregory Ridge Healthcare Center in Kansas City, MO. Ms. Peters was born September 24, 1940, in Dexter, MO to the late Nelson Otis Kitchen and Mabel Ilene Buchanan Kitchen. She was a 1958 graduate of the Dexter High School. Anita worked as a secretary for many years in California and Missouri before her career at the Dexter Wal-Mart for 23 ½ years. Survivors include two daughters Renae (Michael) Maus of Kansas City and Sabrina Peters of Dexter; one granddaughter, CDT Nicole Louise Maus of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY: one grandson LTJG Andrew Peters Maus of the United States Navy; one step-grandson Randy (Whitney) Maus of Gower, MO and four great grandchildren, Kimmi, Mary-Lou, Wesley and Benjamin; many nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother LeRoy Kitchen. Anita was active for many years with the Stoddard County Historical Society. She was passionate about genealogy, gardening and music. Visitation will be held at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, MO on Saturday April 24, 2021 from 1 to 3 pm followed by graveside services at the Puxico Cemetery. Memorial donations are asked to be sent to the Dementia Society of America or the charity of your choice With Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
