Obituary of Margaret Grayson

Margaret Grayson of Essex, daughter of late Jim and Alvester Scott Nelson, was born in Parma on December 8, 1943, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on March 12, 2020, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 4 days. She had lived in the Essex area most of her life. She was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and the Semo Partnership. She loved her family and loved to sing. On November 3, 1976, she was married to Moses Junior Grayson in Parma. Surviving are her husband, Moses Grayson of Essex; two sons, Moses Grayson, Jr. of Jefferson City, Nick Reno of Kansas City; nine daughters, Joyce Burton of Essex, Evelyn Currie and Angela Moore both of Jacksonville, Florida, Lora Moore of Sikeston, Melissa Pierre of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Olena Grayson of Paducah, Kentucky, Carolyn Grayson and Renee Grayson both of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Glenda Faye Sanders of Grand Rapids, Michigan; twenty-one grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; two brothers, William and Louis Nelson both of Parma. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Lee Nelson; two sisters, Delores Moore, Shirley Nelson and three brothers, Veroy Andrews, Milton Nelson and Earl James Nelson. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, after 11:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter until time of services at 1:00 pm with Alex Sims of Haywood City officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden with the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter will be in charge of all the arrangements.
