Shannon Dale Howell, the son of the late Rev. Henry and Nola Wilson Howell, was born in Risco, Missouri on July 8, 1946 and passed away at his home in Bernie, Missouri on October 30, 2005, at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 22 days. He had lived in Bernie most of his life and graduated from Bernie High School in 1964. He had been employed as a Bar-B-Que Cook at 225 Package in Dexter and was of the Assembly of God faith. Shannon was an award winning fisherman receiving 40 trophies from the Bootheel Crappie Club. He also won two awards car racing at the Malden Dragstrip and was awarded five state champion awards for table tennis from the Piggott Arkansas Jaycees. Surviving are two sisters, Yvonne Hampton of Malden, Missouri, Trellis Warmack of Ashland, Kentucky, three nieces and three nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Graydon, Lindel, and Sharron Howell. Friends may call after 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Ivan Mekan of Bernie, Missouri and the Rev. Floyd Pyle of Moscow Mills, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
