John R. McCollough, the son of the late Wesley and Ethel Hutchcraft McCollough, was born near Dexter, Missouri on March 1, 1929, and passed away at his home near Dexter, Missouri on October 22, 2005, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 21 days. He had lived near Dexter, Missouri all of his life. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of the Ark of Hope Church near Dexter, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and had served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. On June 11, 1950, he was married to Lola Corlew in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are his wife, Lola McCollough of Dexter, Missouri; one son, Charles McCollough of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter, Connie Pruitt of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren, Joe and Jessica McCollough both of Phoenix, Arizona, Christy & Danny Sindle of Dexter, Missouri, Melody & Joe Patrick of Bloomfield, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Hanna Patrick of Bloomfield; and one sister, Louise Welch of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Louie McCollough. Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at the Ark of Hope Church near Dexter, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, in the Ark of Hope Church with the Rev. David Hardin of Dexter, Missouri and Bro. Jerry Cooper of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
