Nellie R. O'Neal, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Trannie Adkins Moran, was born in Broseley, Missouri on April 12, 1939, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 10, 2005, at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 28 days. She had been a resident of Dexter for several years and moved to the Puxico area seventeen years ago. She attended the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico. She enjoyed singing, gardening, sewing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. On December 24, 1982, she was married to Russell O'Neal in Fisk, Missouri. Surviving are her husband, Russell O'Neal of Puxico, Missouri; one son, George Tibbs, Jr. of Kingsford, Michigan; two daughters, Carmen Tibbs of South Holland, Illinois, Tracy Powers of Lees Summitt, Missouri; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one step-son, Bryan O'Neal of San Mateo, California; two brothers, Charles Moran of Fisk, Missouri, Bob Moran of Usk, Washington; and one sister, Melba Jean Merritt of Springfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one step-son, Adam O'Neal. Friends may call after 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri. Interment will follow at the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri.
