Katherine Sheppard Katherine Sheppard, the daughter of the late H. Berkley and Jewel Turner Talkington, was born in Russellville, Arkansas on September 14, 1926, and passed away at her daughters home in Hernando, MIssissippi on September 1, 2005, at the age 78 years, 11 months and 18 days. Mrs. Sheppard grew up in Risco, Missouri and graduated from high school there. She moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and lived a short time in California before moving to Mississippi 30 years ago. She graduated college in St. Louis with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and was retired from Gates Lumber Company where she worked as an accountant and credit manager. She was a member of the Hernando Baptist Church in Hernando, Mississippi. On November 27, 1973, she was married to Jack Dean Sheppard in Memphis, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1992. Surviving are three daughters: Linda Gladding of Bishop, California, Vicki Younger of Hernando, Mississippi and Cheryl Carlew of Madison, Mississippi. Two brothers: Larry Don Talkington of Bryan, Ohio, Danny Talkington of Grayridge, Missouri. Two sisters: Shirley Gibbs of Risco, Missouri and Phillis Norrid-Crites of Dexter, Missouri. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call after 10 AM on Monday, September 5, 2005, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Bro. Herman Morse of Dexter, Missouri, Pastor of the Church of Christ in Essex, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
