Zelma Arith Findley, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Ford Boyd, was born in Victor, Arkansas on September 11, 1919, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Facility in Dexter, Missouri on November 5, 2005, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 24 days.
She had lived in Essex, Missouri for the past 58 years and was an avid gardner, putting out a large garden every year. She was a member of the Bird's Corner Assembly of God near Essex, Missouri.
On October 23, 1937, she was married to Paul Findley in Leachville, Arkansas.
Surviving are her husband, Paul Findley of Essex, Missouri, one daughter, Betty Mott of Essex, Missouri, one grandchild, and one great grandchild. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and James Warren Findley, and five brothers, Alford, Robert, Buford, Floyd, and Silas Boyd.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Robert Sneed of Sikeston, Missouri officiating and the Rev. Mike Brown of Essex, Missouri assisting.
