Winnie I. Spickelmier
Winnie I. Spickelmier, the daughter of the late John Osmar and Janetta Irene Hargraves Kennedy, was born in Gideon, Missouri on August 16, 1918, and passed away at Missouri Southern Health Care in Dexter, Missouri on February 27, 2009 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 11 days.
Mrs. Spickelmier had lived her life in Southeast Missouri. She retired after spending many years working at Elders Manufacturing, Rowe Furniture and in sales. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church. She most enjoyed her involvement with her church, hand crafts, gardening, reading and time with her family.
On November 20, 1937, she was married to Norman Louis Spickelmier in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in June 1963
Surviving are three daughters: Gwen Snider of Dexter, Missouri, Faye and Fred Reinhold of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Ramona and Patrick Shaw of Cuba, Missouri. Two brothers Ardell Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Wincel Kennedy of Dallas, Texas. One Sister JoAnn Weathrly of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren, Twenty one Great-grandchildren and Seven Great-Great Grandchildren. She is survived by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Kenneth, James, Dwain and Denzel Kennedy and one Great Granddaughter Savannah Snider.
Friends may call on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Josh Carpenter of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
