Winfred Whitley, son of the late Shelby and Mattie Belle Wallace Whitley, was born in Parma, Missouri on January 28, 1934, and passed away on November 3, 2011, at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 6 days.
He had lived in Piedmont and Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Morehouse in 1954. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Morehouse. He had worked at Semo Motor Company in the Auto Body Repair dept.
On September 4, 1954, he was married to Jessie Oleta Daniels in Morehouse, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie Oleta Whitley of Morehouse; two sons, Michael D. Whitley of Dexter, Winfred R. Whitley of Morehouse; three daughters, Marlene D. Kinder of Sikeston, Kathy A. Newton of Essex, Sharon L. Goodon of Morehouse; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Alfred, Dessey, Iesey, Melvin and Robert Whitley and two sisters, Lucille Chastain and Alma Simpson.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2011, after 11:00 am at the Pentecostal Church in Morehouse, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 2:00 pm at the Pentecostal Church in Morehouse, Missouri with Pastor James Vent of Catron, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
