Winford S. Cato of Bloomfield, Missouri, son of the late Sylvester and Leona (Bennett) Cato was born on March 3, 1934, in Sturdivant, Missouri, and passed from this life on April 15, 2023, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 89.
He lived in the Southeast Missouri area all of his life. Winford enjoyed hunting, sharing stories, telling jokes and sharing his opinion. He truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but his greatest passion was fishing. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Winford retired in 1995 from being a mason brick layer.
Winford married Wilta Jean Wiseman on July 2, 1955 in Zalma, Missouri and remained married until his passing.
Winford is survived by his wife of the home; one son Cody Gibler of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of family and friends.,
Winford was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Paul, Hadley, Truman and James Cato; two sister-in-laws Bonnie and Essye Mae Cato and one infant sister.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins And Sons Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield, Missouri with Funeral service to follow with Brother John McCain of Bloomfield Officiating.
Interment will follow at the Morgan Memorial Cemetery in Advance, Missouri with Watkins And Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
