Willis Stephens

Willis Stephens, son of the late William M. and Cladza Smith Stephens, was born in McGee, Missouri on October 14, 1926, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 8, 2010, at the age of 84 years and 25 days. He had lived in the McGee and Puxico areas all his life. He was a member of the Puxico General Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar. On July 26, 1966, he was married to Freda Holigan in Puxico, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Freda Stephens of Puxico, Missouri; one son & daughter in law, Randy & Regina Stephens of Puxico, Missouri; one granddaughter, Lily Stephens; one brother, Melvis Stephens of Cahokia, Illinois. Other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death one daughter, Lisa Stephens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 11:00 am in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
