Willis A. Layton, son of the late Raymond Everett and Mary Alice Merriman Layton, was born in Morehouse, Missouri on March 1, 1954, and passed away at his home near Essex, Missouri on July 12, 2011, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 11 days.
Mr. Layton had lived in Texas, spent fifteen years in Dexter and lived near Essex, Missouri at this time. He had been an auto mechanic.
Surviving are one son, Robert Cullum of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Natalie Henson of Texas; three step-children, Jewell & Richard Cullum both of Dexter, Missouri, Dixie Cullum of Florida; three sisters,. Lois M. Carmack of Sikeston, Missouri, Joyce W. Hall and Parzee E. Baker both of Essex; one brother, Doyle R. Layton of Essex, Missouri; two half-brothers, A. W. Layton of Sikeston, Missouri, and R. D. Layton of Rockford, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley and Raymond Henson and one brother, Danny Lee Layton.
Friends may call on Friday, July 15, 2011, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 2:00 pm in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Charles Woodard of Advance, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Link Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
