Willie Mae "Billie" Kidd, the daughter of the late Phillip Ray and Verna Higgins McDonald, was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on February 29, 1928, and passed away at the Cypress Point Health Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on January 31, 2006, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 2 days. She had moved to Dexter in 1972, moved and spent twenty years at Lake Wappapello and returned to Dexter in 1997. She attended the Methodist Church. On August 2, 1951, she was married to Melvin Kidd in Detroit, Michigan. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1992. Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Denkins of Bloomfield, Missouri; one sister, Lucille Trew of Cleveland, Tennessee; two grandsons, David Peacock of Bloomfield, Missouri, Glyn Denkins of Chicago, Illinois; one granddaughter, Julia Denkins of Bloomfield, Missouri; and one great granddaughter, Emma Maeleah of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. David Hardin of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
