William C. "Bill" Stroud, son of the late William Herman and Lora Shrum Stroud, was born in Puxico, Missouri on April 14, 1931, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on November 22, 2010, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and 8 days.
In 1949, he first married Edith May Copus in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1998. He later married Doris Warman. She preceded him in death.
He had spent 44 years in Madison, Wisconsin before returning to Puxico in 1991. He had worked in the Smoke House at Oscar Meyer for 38 years. He was a member of the Puxico Christian Church in Puxico. He enjoyed being with his family and dancing.
Surviving are one son and spouse, Billy & Donna Stroud of Puxico, Missouri; two daughters and spouse, Sheryl Dvorak of Madison, Wisconsin, Vicki & Jack Seamans of Glendale, Arizona; nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one one sister, Ruth Ella Keith.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010, at 12:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico.
Interment will be in the Elliott Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
