Harry Pullum, the son of the late William A. and Anna May Triplett Pullum was born in Essex, Missouri on April 8, 1922, and passed away at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on June 9, 2007, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 1 days.
Mr. Pullum had lived in the Essex and Bloomfield areas most of his life. He was a retired Farmer and Construction worker and was a member of the Asssembly of God Church at Birds Corner. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during WWII, he served in New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon Campaigns. He was awarded three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Metal, Merit Service Unit Insignia, No Time Lost under A. W. 107 Lapel Button, was entitled to wear the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon. He also had five overseas bars and the victory ribbon.
On August 8, 1942, he was married to Helen Beatrice Gromer in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Helen "Bea" Pullum of Essex, Missouri. He is also surived by a very special nephew and care giver Barry Pullum of Idalia, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Charles and Jim Pullum and two sisters, Venetia Stafford and Wilma Patterson.
Friends may call on Monday, June 11, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at 11:00 AM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Don Lafferty of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bluff Cemetery in Idalia, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
