William "Bill" Mangum
William "Bill" Mangum, the son of the late Roscoe Conklin and Francis Louise Burton Mangum , was born in Blythville, Arkansas on January 29, 1929, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on January 2, 2009 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 4 days.
Mr. Mangum had lived in Stoddard County since 1957. He was retired from the city of Bloomfield where he worked as Street Superintendent and was a member of the New Bethel General Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Bloomfield Saddle Club and enjoyed hunting and camping.
On November 16, 1946, he was married to Betty Asalee Creasy in Piggott, Arkansas
Surviving are his wife: Betty Mangum of Dexter, Missouri, one son Michael William Mangum of Dexter, Missouri. Three daughters: Judy Ann Froemel of Hayward Wisconsin, Rose Conner of Gore Springs, Mississippi, Angela Kay Wood of Bloomfield, Missouri eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister: Reba Vernon of Ash Flat, Arkansas. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by six sisters and seven brothers.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 3, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Dean Williams of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
