Willene Gibbs Mathews, daughter of the late Amos E. and Daphne Ruth Hudgens Smith, was born on June 23, 1931, in Bloomfield, Missouri and passed away on December 1, 2013, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 8 days.
She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life. She and her husband, Don, had owned and operated a gocery business in Bloomfield, and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. She loved her kids and her grandchildren were the love of her life.
On December 16, 1956, she was married to Don Gibbs. He preceded he in death on September 24, 1982. On December 3, 1989, she was married to Bill Matthews.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Matthews of Bloomfield; two sons and wives, Scott & Lina Gibbs, Todd & Jill Gibbs all of Bloomfield; one daughter and husband, Pam & Ed Demasio of Lawrence, Kansas; grandchildren, Donnie, Alex, Matt, & Sam Gibbs, Aseye Demasio, Marvin & Westin Smith. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, after 10:00 a.m. at
the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday December 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Alice Fowler of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with
Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
