Wiley Mattingly, the son of the late Clarence C. Mattingly and Eva Omohundro Mattingly, was born in Dudley, Missouri on May 6, 1933, and passed away at the John Cochran Veteran's Administration Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri on May 21 , 2008, at the age of 75 years and 15 days. Mr. Mattingly had lived in Dudley, Missouri most of his life. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of the Puxico Masons AF&AM 596 in Puxico, Missouri. He was a former member of the Moolah Shriners of Poplar Bluff and a former assessor for Stoddard County. He was also a life time member of the FFA at Puxico, Missouri. He was a co-owner of Puxico Auction Company and worked for Atlas Enameling as a truck driver for 10 years. He also attended the Hobbs Chapel Church. On June 15, 1952, he was married to Betty Moore at Hobbs Chapel in Dudley, MIssouri. Surviving are his wife, Betty Mattingly of Dudley, Missouri; one son, James Wiley Mattingly of Dudley, Missouri; one daughter, Melissa Leann Wood of Dudley, Missouri; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Lynn Mattingly of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Patty Lee of Dudley, Missouri. Many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lavell Mattingly and Jules Mattingly. Friends may call on Friday, May 23, 2008, after 6:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. There will be a special service at 7 PM conducted by the Puxico Masons AF&AM 596 at the Watkins and Sons Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24 , 2008, at 2:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Bro. Amos Dees of Wappapello, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Hobbs Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
