Wanda E. Walker, the daughter of the late Curt and Alta Willis Cobb, was born Success, Arkansas on June 10, 1923, and passed away at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on September 13, 2007, at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 3 days. Mrs. Walker had lived in the Essex, Grayridge communities and moved to Dexter, Missouri in 1975. She was a member of the General Baptist Church. On March 8, 1941, she was married to Eskew Walker in Charleston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1974. Surviving are one son, Leland E. Walker of Bloomfield, Missouri; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Cobb of Blythe, California; three sisters, Ruby Pulley of Columbus, Ohio, Norma Santo of St. Louis, Missouri and Brenda Allen of Blyth, California. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Cobb. Friends may call on Monday September 17, 2007, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2007, at 1:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
