Viva Freitas

Viva Ernestine Freitas, the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Lowell O. Faries McClure, was born in Ferguson, Missouri on May 7, 1924, and passed away at the Mendoza Care Home in Vallejo, California on March 5, 2009, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 26 days. Mrs. Freitas had worked as a nurse at the NAPD State Hospital and the Doctor's Hospital in Pinole, California. She was married to Frank J. Freitas, he preceded her in death. Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Randy & Donna Olmsted of Camp Zama, Japan; one step-daughter, Helen Freitas of Redding, California; three grandchildren; three great grandchilren; two sisters, June Morlen of St. Louis, Missouri, Jeannie McClure of Hot Springs, Arkansas; niece and nephew, Ron & Marilyn Rohrer of Vallejo, California. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Friends may call on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 1:00 PM at the Wappapello Cemetery where graveside services will be held with Rev. Dennis Doublin of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Wappapello Cemetery in Wappapello, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
