Virginia Whitaker

Virginia Pauline Whitalker, the daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Mabel May Medler Parker, was born in Wabash Co., Illinois on May 1, 1918, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on December 31, 2007, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 30 days. Mrs. Whitaker had lived in Dexter, Missouri the past thirty years. She had worked as a nursing home operator. On November 16, 1945, she was married to Luther Whitaker in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2007. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Whitaker of Dexter, Missouri, Virginia Hendrix of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; four sons, Aubrey Finch of Bernie, Missouri, Marvin, Bobby and Joe Finch all of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call on Friday, January 4, 2008, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Frank Townsend of Parma, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
