Virgil F. Hanes, son of the late Benjamin and Nina Haywood Hanes, was born in Summer, Illinois on October 13, 1931, and passed away at his home in Bloomfield, Missouri on January 17, 2011, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 4 days.
Mr. Hanes had lived in Michigan until his retirement from the Ford Motor Company and moved back to Bloomfield, Missouri several years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Easter Star in Bloomfield, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and had volunteered for several years at the John J. Pershing V. A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Surviving are one sister, Philomena Cox of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; one brother, Robert Hanes of Garden City, Michigan. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, after 9:30 AM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Eastern Star Services and Masonic Rites will be conducted on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, beginning at 10:15 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
