Violet Marie Snider, of Fort Worth, Texas, daughter of the late John T. & Ella Belle Holsapple Ridenour. was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 1, 1930, and passed away at the Remarkable Health Care Center in Ft. Worth, Texas on April 2, 2017, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 1 day.
She raised her family in St. Charles and retired to her home town of Puxico before moving to Texas 9 1/2 years ago. She attended St. Charles First Assembly of God and Life Chapel Assembly of God in Puxico for many years, where she worked with the youth and taught Sunday School.
On June 21, 1946, she married Chester O. Snider in Puxico, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1999.
Surviving are one son, John A. (Gail) Snider of Saginaw, Texas; two daughters, Regina A. Ray of Elgin, Illinois, Lisa M. (Larry) Payton of Puxico; a granddaughter (adopted daughter), Julia Snider (Anthony) Intawiwat of Charlotte, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Sarah Marie Payton, Ethan Bradford Payton, James Alexander Snider, Amanda Elaine (Shane) Johnson; one great grandson, Chester Elijah Payton; two brothers, John Carlos Ridenour of St. Charles and Jimmy G. Ridenour of Lake St. Louis. Other relatives and many friends also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by five sisters, Laverne Coffman, Reeda Hale, Ilene Yackly Duncan, Mavis Vardell and Velma Ridenour.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico officiating.
Interment will be in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
