Velva Orene Robisky, the daughter of the late Richard H. and Effie Adeline Jerls McCamish, was born in Bernie, Missouri on March 12, 1916, and passed away at the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas on April 22, 2006, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 10 days.
She was raised in Bernie, Missouri and moved to Dexter after she married. She was a cosmotologist and owned and operated her own beauty shop in Dexter, Missouri for many years. She moved to Cedar Hill, Texas in 1978, where she spent many years before moving back to Dexter for a few years, she moved to Dallas, Texas a few years ago to be with her daughter. She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Chruch in Cedar Hill, Texas.
On July 2, 1932, she was married to Claud Otis Jarrell in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1968. On July 4, 1976, she was married to Tommy Robisky in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie Thrower of Dallas, Texas, several grandchildren, two sisters, Evelyn Robinson of Jackson, Missouri, and Martha Duffie-Reynolds of Bernie, Missouri. Other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, one in infancy and J. R. Jarrell, two sisters, Melba Thurston and Mayola Gibson, and one brother, James Richard McCamish.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Michael Kohlbaker of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Sadler's Chapel Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
