Velma Alene Tucker, the daughter of the late Henry and Nola McDaniel Wicker, was born in Hardin Co. Tennessee on October 6, 1914, and passed away at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri on February 22, 2008, at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 16 days.
Mrs. Tucker had lived in Caruthersville, Missouri where she lived until moving to Dexter, Missouri in 1951. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
On Augusst 21, 1937, she was married to James Alvin Tucker in Caruthersville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, James Tucker and Glen Tucker both of Dexter, Missouri; two daughters, Betty Barks and Nola Cotner both of Hecker, Illinois; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four brothers, Herschel Wicker of Sulpher, Oklahoma, Vernon Wicker of Cahokia, Illinois, Hayes Wicker of St. Peters, Missouri, Ernest Wicker of Little Rock, Arkansas; and one sister, Zelma Elder of Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death one grandson, Charles Barks, four brothers and five sisters.

Graveside Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Don Kennedy of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
