Van Harris Kilmer
Van Harris Kilmer, the son of the late Roy and Mayme Harris Kilmer, was born in Dexter, Missouri on December 4, 1939, and passed away at the John J. Pershing V. A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 19, 2005, at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 15 days.
Mr. Kilmer had been a resident of Dexter most of his life, and moved to Sikeston in June of 2001. He graduated from the Murray State College in Murray, Kentucky in 1964. He was a retired MFA Insurance agent and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
On January 27, 1967, he was married to Mary Ann Merriman in Dexter, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife: Mary Ann Kilmer of Sikeston, Missouri, one daughter: Sarah Elizabeth Lankheit of Sikeston, Missouri, one grandson: Thomas Lankheit of Sikeston, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother: Clarence "Froggie" Kilmer on May 17, 1975.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, April 21, 2005, after 10:00 AM until time for services.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
