Thomas "Les" Nash, son of the late William and Nora Jennings Nash, was born in Dudley, Missouri on August 29, 1921, and passed away at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on February 2, 2012, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 4 days.
He had lived in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Dexter in 1992. Les had worked as a core drill operator with the U. S. Corp of Engineers. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WW II. He was a 60 year member of the American Legion, the Dexter Eagles Aerie, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #532 in Dexter, Missouri and was a 32nd Degree, Scottish Rite.
Surviving are one daughter, Tamara Smoot of Nashville, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Kristina Morris of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Elizabeth Rose of Dexter, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Sam Nash.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
