Thelma Armada Valentine, the daughter of the late W. E. and Virgie Mounce Vails, was born in Holcomb, Missouri on February 15, 1917, passed away at the Cypress Point Healthcare facility in Dexter, Missouri on October 29, 2006, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Valentine was a homemaker and had lived in the Bernie and Dexter areas most of her life. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
On April 29, 1939, she was married to Raymond Valentine. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1994.
Surviving are four brothers, Roy Vails of Oxford, Mississippi, George Vails of Puxico, Missouri, Charles Vails of Dexter, Missouri, Franklin Vails of Campbell, Missouri; four sisters, Eula Owens of Bernie, Missouri, Edith Gregory of Dexter, Missouri, Lola Thomas of Stuartdraft, Virginia, and Nadine Donalson of Machesney Park, Illinois. Other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Vails and two sisters, Maxine Lester and Joyce Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at 10:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
