Thelma Lovetta Cookson, daughter of the late Archie Arvel and Clara Gladys Cooper Warren, was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on September 28, 1939, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hosptal in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on November 22, 2008, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 25 days.
She had lived in Granite City, Illinois for several years and moved to Dexter 22 years ago. She had worked at Arvin Automotive for nineteen years.
She was married to Lyman Cookson in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2008.
Surviving are her daughter, Marva Cookson of Dexter, Missouri; one grandson, Michael Tackett of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Marjorie Sadler of Bloomfield, Missouri; three brothers, Kent Warren of Madison, Illinois, Larry "Butch" Warren of Granite City, Illinois; and Wayne Warren of Salem, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Warren, Arvona Walker and Kay Nevels.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
