Sylvia Edith Watson, the daughter of the late Fred Tull and Effie Morgan Dozier, was born in Hollywood, Missouri on June 22, 1915, and passed away at the West Bloomfield Nursing Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan on October 17, 2008, at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 25 days. Mrs. Watson had lived in Michigan for 66 years. She had worked after moving to Michigan as a "Rosie the Riveter" in the B29 plant and was of the Methodist faith. On March 8, 1943, she was married to Willard S. Watson from Puxico, Missouri in Highland Park, Michigan. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1978. Surviving are one son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Anne Watson of Rochester, Michigan; three daughters and son in law, Margaret Kumar of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Barbara and Tom Wratchford and Lois Watson both of Sykesville, Maryland; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Dean Dozier of St. Louis, Missouri; and one sister, Carolyn June Sneed of Malden, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Estel, Cecil Howard and John Tull Dozier and two sisters, Viva Wilkerson and Velma Pauline Dozier. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with her cousin, Paul Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
