Sybil Pearl Lawrence formerly of Dexter, daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Myrtie Mae Lincoln Harper, was born in Idalia, Missouri on September 20, 1916, and passed away at her home in Cape Girardeau on January 20, 2018, at the age of 101 years and 4 months.
Mrs. Lawrence had lived in Dexter area most of her life. She was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter.
On December 21, 1935, she married James Arvell Lawrence in Bloomfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1998.
Surviving are one daughter, Helen Triplett of Cape Girardeau; one granddaughter, Kathy Lambdin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; three great grandsons, Matthew Lambdin,of Jonesboro, Illinois; Eric & Aaron Lambdin both of Wolf Lake, Illinois; three great great grandchildren, Emma & Owen Lambdin of Jonesboro, Illinois; and Clara Lambdin of Wolf Lake, Illinois; two sisters, Bessie Morlan of Bloomfield, Missouri and Marian Akins of Hoover, Alabama. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Harper; and five sisters, Madge Eaton, Mildred Hutchinson, Hattie Nottingham, Blanche Avery, Edna Hellman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2018, after 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.
Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
