Sindy Cochran, daughter of the late Edward Lee and Lucy Florence Julius Metcalf, was born in Asherville, Missouri on June 15, 1933, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on August 6, 2012, at the age of 79 years, 1 months and 22 days.
Sindy had lived in Puxico, Missouri most of her life where she worked at the Puxico Press as a proof reader. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico, V. F. W. Post 7822 Ladies Auxiliary and the Thursday Culture Club. She enjoyed quilting, macrame, gardening, walking and cooking.
On January 27, 1951, she was married to Fred Cochran in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1994.
Surviving are one son, Dennis Cochran of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one daughter, Debra Jones of Fruitland, Missouri; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pearl Medley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Denise Scates and Donna Cochran; two brothers, Virgil Bounds and Tom Metcalf, and one sister Merle Jewell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
