Shirley A. Ham, daughter of the late William Alexander & Willa Jeffrey Proffer Gwin, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on July 8, 1935, and passed away at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 18, 2015, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 10 days.
Mrs. Ham had lived in Bloomfield all of her life. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She had worked as a waitress at Tucker's Restaurant in Bloomfield and was an active member of the Dexter Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and crocheting.
On October 18, 1952, she was married to W. A. "Bill" Ham in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Vicki L. Bridges of Bloomfield, Missouri, Danita "Nita" A. Bedell of Nassau Bay, Texas, Denise A. Moline of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her special friend, Robert Kirkland of Dexter. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Deloris Mae Gwin in 1992 and one brother, James Lee Gwin in 1989.
Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at :00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
A Dinner celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Dexter Eagles Aerie.
