Shirley Eona Duncan, the daughter of the late Melvin and Ruth Huber Fetters, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 10, 1934, and passed away at the St. John's Hospital in Washington, Missouri on December 31, 2008 at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 21 days.
Mrs. Duncan had lived in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to St. Clair, Missouri in 1971. She was a home maker and a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clair, Missouri.
On August 10, 1957, she was married to James Lee Duncan in St. Louis, Missouri.
Surviving are her husband, James Lee Duncan of St. Clair, Missouri, one son and wife, Charles Cameron & Nancy Summers of Mayflower, Arkansas; two daughters and husbands, Cheryl Kay & Thomas Richardson of Richwoods, Missouri, Rhonda Lynn & Steve Gilchrist of Rolla, Missouri; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother and wife, Melvin & Dora Fetters of New Braunfels, Texas; and one sister and husband, Rita & Donald Green of Springfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Joy Fetters.
Friends may call on Friday, January 2, 2009, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Orville Richardson of St. Clair, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
