Sherman F. Boone, son of the late Dan and Belle Haney Boone, was born near Dexter, Missouri on September 1, 1919 and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Malden, Missouri on January 4, 2008, at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 3 days. Mr. Boone had lived in Dexter, Missouri for many years and had spent the past twenty-one years in Malden, Missouri. He had owned and operated Boone's Grocery Store in Dexter. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Surviving are two sons, David Boone of Batesville, Arkansas, Jim Boone of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter, Leslie Palmer of Syracuse, Indiana; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Orville, Jim and Jack Boone. Friends may call on Monday, January 7, 2008, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Dean Williams of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
