**Sandra Kay Love-Barks**

Sandra Kay Love-Barks, a cherished member of the Dexter, Missouri community, was born on October 30, 1947, to the late Milford and Ludia (McGath) Love. She departed this life on October 15, 2024, surrounded by her family in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Sandra had a fulfilling career, retiring as a Pharmacy Technician from K-Mart Pharmacy in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After her retirement, she dedicated her time and compassion to serving others as an in-home caregiver with Southern Care and Comfort in Dexter.

On September 11, 2004, Sandra married Jerry Barks in Dexter, Missouri. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jerry Barks; her daughter, Brenda (Rodney) Brown of Poplar Bluff; her sons, Berlin (Amy) Robertson of Poplar Bluff and David Sechrest of Dexter; and step-daughter, Jerra (Jeff) Surrat of Austin, Texas. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Tyler Davidson, Parker (Megan) Davidson, Bailey (Mallory) Davidson, Zach Brown (Alyson Sieben), Blake (Brittany) Robertson, Brady Robertson, Jenna (Matt) Durrette, Bailey Sanders, and Kaity Sanders. She also is survived by her great-granddaughter, Grayson Durrette, and two sisters, Shirley (Leo) Brewer of St. Louis and Darlene (Carl) Price of Colorado Springs.

A devoted member of the Bernie Christian Church, Sandra actively participated in numerous church fundraisers. She had a passion for watching her grandchildren play sports and enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and crafting. Most importantly, she treasured spending time with her family, her best friend Nora Hardin, and her special neighbors Jody & Pam Laramore.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Beverly West and Naomi Ruth Love.

In honor of Sandra's memory, contributions may be made to the Bernie Christian Church in Bernie, Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11 A.M. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral service will follow at 12 P.M., with burial at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri.
