Rev. Samuel H. McClellan, son of the late Samuel Nelson and Bertie Stricker McClellan, was born in Stanberry, Missouri on April 9, 1924, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing and Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri, Missouri on January 16, 2013, at the age of 88 years.
He had last pastored in Morley and Naylor, Missouri for 20 years and had been the Camp Care Taker at the Church of God Youth Camp for 14 years. He moved to Puxico in 2005 and attended the First Baptist Church in Puxico. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of the D.A.V. and the Puxico VFW Post.
He was married to Kathleen Fish on July 21, 1946 in Hatfield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2005.
Surviving are three sons, David and Dale McClellan both of Bloomfield, Daniel McClellan of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Billie Carmack of Kelso, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy, Cleo, Charles, Gene and Carl McClellan; and four sisters, Mabel Young, June Farrnes, Bonnie Poe and infant sister Eva Saver.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico is in charge of arrangements.
