Sammy Pruitt

Sammy Lee Pruitt, son of the late Everett Dennis and Myrtle Pruitt, was born on October 23, 1940, in Idalia, Missouri and passed away at his home in Idalia, Missouri on January 8, 2012, at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 16 days. Mr. Pruitt lived in Idalia, Missouri all of his life. He had been a machinist at Arvin Automotive in Dexter. He was a Baptist, a member of Masonic Lodge 152 in Bloomfield, Missouri and the Sikeston American Legion. On December 21, 1973, he was married to Betty Jean Roach in Benton, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Pruitt of Idalia, Missouri; one son, Clay Pruitt of Idalia, Missouri; three daughters, Jeanie Pruitt, Dana Relli, and Amanda McWilson, all of Jackson, Missouri; two step-sons, Randy Spencer of Florida, Ricky Kelley of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one step-daughter, Donna Gregory of Idalia, Missouri; four grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Pruitt of Arnold, Missouri, and special friend of the family, Don Marshall of Jackson, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Myrl Potter and one brother, Bill Pruitt. Friends may call on Monday, January 9, 2012, after 10:00 AM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 1:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield Missouri with Randy McWilson of Jackson, Missouri officiating. Internment will be at the Bluff Cemetery near Idalia, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
