Ruth Ellen Lee, the daughter of the late Albert and Mattie Norma Haley Williamson, was born near Essex, Missouri on December 1, 1918, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Missouri on February 11, 2009 at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 10 days. Mrs. Lee had lived in Essex and Puxico, Missouri all her life. She had worked at the Comeau Nursing Home and at Elders Manufacturing before her retirement. She was a member of the Corinth General Baptist Church near Puxico, Missouri and was the oldest living member of the church. On January 4, 1936, she was married to Walton Paul Lee in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2003. Surviving are one daughter and son in law, Yvonne and Ron Faries of Broseley, Missouri; one son, Bob Lee of Electra, Texas; four grandchildren, Detricia Lee, Cheryleen Cope, Rhonda & Tim Acre, Paula and Mike Hefner; four great grandchildren, Brook Shelnutt, Ashlee & Abby Acre, Hayden Lee Hefner; and one nephew, Jerry Triplett. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Buck, Dick and Wilburn Williamson, and three sisters, Essie Triplett, Dess Barney and Kathleen Reynolds. Friends may call on Friday, February 13, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
