Ruth B. Evans
Ruth B. Evans, the daughter of the late James and Dora Doris Peck, was born in Essex, Missouri on September 14, 1917, and passed away at Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter, Missouri on October 8, 2007, at the age of 90 years and 24 days.
Mrs. Evans lived in Essex, Missouri her entire life. She was a retired self-employed beautician. She was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church near Essex, Missouri.
On September 10, 1938 she was married to Hollon G. "Hob" Evans at Charleston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1988.
Surviving are one son Perry Evans and his wife Marlene of Smithland, Kentucky, two grandchlidren: Kevin Evans and J. P. Evans of Essex, Missouri, 5 great-grandchildren, one sister: Pansy Hutchcraft of Dexter, Missouri, several nieces, nephews and a special friend, Eldon Stafford of Essex, Missouri. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son: Stan K. Evans, one daughter: Lavonda Evans, two brothers: Vernie and Leonard Peck, two sisters: Ollie West and Jenny Lemons. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. W. H. Worth of Essex, Missouri and Rev. Miles Meadows of Dudley, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
