Russell Ramsey

Russell Ramsey Russell Ramsey, son of the late Lloyd Ramsey and Alveda Baker Russell was born in Marble Hill, Missouri on October 25,1946, and passed away at his farm on December 10, 2011 at the age of 65. He had been a resident of Puxico for 40 years. He attended the Woodland High School in Marble Hill. Mr. Ramsey was a veteran of the US Army. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri where he received his BS in Animal Science and completed his masters and Specialist Degrees in Education. He taught vocational agriculture and was the advisor for the Fredericktown, Puxico and Dexter FFA chapters. After he retired from education he was employed by the University of Missouri Extension in Ellington where he served as an Agribusiness Specialist. He most recently worked with the Missouri AgriAbility Project. He took great pride in his work and received many accolades. He attended the Puxico First General Baptist Church and had served on the Puxico School Board. He enjoyed working on his farm, attending his cattle, helping people, traveling, working his garden, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. On January 26, 1969 he was married to Wanda Barks in Marble Hill, Missouri. Surviving are his wife: Wanda Ramsey of Puxico, Missouri. One son: Tyler Ramsey of Kansas City, Missouri. One daughter Regina (Randy) Stephens of Puxico, Missouri. One granddaughter Lily Stephens. One sister: Elizabeth Gable of Oak Ridge, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by one brotherLloyd "Wesley" Ramsey and his Grandparents who raised him John W. and Alice Baker. Visitation will be held Monday December 12, 2011 after 5:00 PM at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 13, 2011, at 10:00 AM at the First General Baptist Church in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield officiating. Interment will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Cemetery in Marble Hill, Missouri with military honors.
