Russell "Pud" Kelley, the son of the late Leonard and Leslie Brown Kelley, was born in Puxico, Missouri on November 5, 1922, and passed away at the Avalon Gardens in St. Louis, Missouri on December 19, 2008, at the age of 86 years, 1 months and 14 days. Mr. Kelley had lived in St. Louis, Missouri for many years and moved to Puxico in 1985. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, a life member of VFW Post 7522 in Puxico and was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge. His favorite hobby was playing golf. On August 30, 1947, he was married to June Kitchen in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2003. Surviving are one son, Russell Kelley, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Deborah Henson of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandsons, Kelley and Justin Henson both of St. Louis, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Nicole, Lucas, Alannah, Liam and Destiny Henson; one brother-in-law, Gordon Martin of Wentzville, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Thelma Campbell of Puxico, Missouri; two nephews, Leonard and Karl Kelley both of St. Louis, Missouri; three nieces, Monica Stevens of Maryland, Donna Olmstead of Japan, and Becky Folse of Texas. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard "Wassie" Kelley. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 1:00 PM in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
