Ruby Pauline Skelton, daughter of the late Andrew Alexander and Lucy May Green Matthews, was born near Dexter, Missouri on April 14, 1930, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on June 4, 2011, at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 11 days.
Mrs. Skelton had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri all her life. She attended the Bloomfield Assembly of God Church. She had retired from Elder's Manufacturing after 46 years and worked at McDonald's for ten years.
On December 18, 1954, she was married to James Earl Skelton in Hernando, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Parker of Dexter, Missouri; Garry Parker of Bloomfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Chad, Jason, Heather and Matthew Parker, Jennifer Whatley, Casey Williams and Matt Banken; six great grandchildren; two nieces, Glenda Wilson and Carlene Barksdale; and one nephew, Roger Matthews. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Carl Matthews.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 8, 2011, at 10:00 AM in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Dwight Hensley of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
