Ruby Emma Hudgens, the daughter of the late James Franklin and Anna Blunt Sadler, was born in Dexter, Missouri on November 9, 1913, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on January 6, 2008, at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 28 days.
Mrs. Hudgens had lived all her life in Stoddard County and had lived in Dexter, Missouri since 1972. She was a member of the Sadler Chapel Methodist Church near Dexter and had attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri, where she was a member of the Women's Club. She enjoyed crocheting.
On June 12, 1932, she was married to Hubert W. Hudgens in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1991.
Surviving are one son, Hubert Dale Hudgens of Bloomfield, Missouri; one daughter, Dorothy Lee Compton of Nathalie, Virginia; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and severasl great great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth M. Pruett of Thousand Oaks, California. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Earl, George C. and Arlie Sadler; one sister, Zelma Sadler and one grandson, Dale Hudgens, Jr.
Friends may call at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Bob Wiggins of Dexter, and Rev. Danny Collins of Qulin, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
