Roy Glenn Sanders of Essex, Missouri born to the late Elmer Louis and Bessie Irene (Purcell) Sanders on April 04, 1942 in Essex, Missouri passed away on December 02, 2021 in his home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 79 years.
Roy has been a resident of Essex, Missouri all of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, getting out to visit friends and family. He loved to go to with his brother-in-law Jerry to eat lunch at the park in Dexter and watch the “squirrels”. He was a founding member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.
Roy married Elwanda Maddox in 1972 in Dexter, Missouri until her passing on April 17, 2006.
Surviving is one daughter Ginger (George) Jaco of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one step daughter Linda Medlin of Essex, Missouri; three grandchildren Garrett (Linsey) Jaco of Arlington, Virginia, Garth Jaco of Arlington, Virginia and Gavin (Becky) Jaco of Ventura, California; four step grandchildren Jason Tomes of Essex, Missouri, Mandy Loftis of Essex, Missouri, Michael Medlin of Dexter, Missouri and Sammi Charest of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a very beloved dog Tanner. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Bessie Sanders; one daughter Tracy Lynn Sanders; five sister Martha Desmithers, Wilma Jean Alberson, Geraldene Duncan, Mildred Williams and Anna Lea Dooley; five brothers Elmer Sanders, James Sanders, Charles Sanders, Doyle Sanders and Donnie Sanders. A host of family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 04, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services to be held on Saturday December 04, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Greg Schwab of Jackson, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
